A CRITERIA FRAMEWORK FOR ASSESSING THE SCIENTIFIC DIVULGATION OF NUCLEAR AREA
Resumo
In nuclear area, scientific divulgation not only simplifies complex concepts but also serves as a tool to demystify dogmas. Public distrust of nuclear energy, for example, is more related to political and moral stances than to technical issues, as would be more appropriate for the analysis of a technology. Therefore, scientific divulgation is necessary to aid in understanding the principles governing nuclear energy, technological advancements, challenges, and social implications of this specific area, for informed decision-making and meaningful participation in public discourse. In this context, the work presents a criteria framework for assessing the quality of scientific divulgation, enabling a more accessible and clear understanding of nuclear engineering while mitigating negative perceptions.
