Resumo

In contrast to research laboratories, industrial plants may have extremely unfavorable conditions (high temperatures, thick walls, enormous surfaces, and challenging access) when it comes to the installation of measurement sensors. When radiotracers are utilized in an industrial plant, this is the scenario that is usually observed. The scintillator detectors must be properly positioned in order to register the radiotracer signals, however installing a scintillator detector and its lead collimator on rounded or uneven surfaces is a difficult process. This work's objective was to create a system that would enable the detectors/collimators set to be accurately positioned on various industrial units. The positioning device is made up of a support box and a cylindrical lead collimator that enable the installation of 2x2 NaI scintillator detectors on heat exchangers, tanks, and ducts. The device was used for flow rate measurements in a gas pipeline.
