Resumo

In this study, the flow parameters of an industrial waste water treatment plant were investigated using radiotracer 131I on a large-scale rectangular tank filled with activated sludge. The radiotracer cloud movement was registered by six scintillator detectors: Five scintillator detectors were positioned within the tank, and one detector was positioned outside to register the output signal. In the first injection the results showed there was a channeling flow, and after changing the exit pumping system, another injection was done, and the result showed that the channeling problem did not occur anymore.
