Resumo

Gamma-emitting radiotracers have been utilized across various industrial sectors to solve problems and enhance procedures and products. This approach is commonly employed in numerous industries due to its capacity to facilitate inspections without disrupting the plant's regular operations. Nevertheless, a deficiency of such services exists in Brazil, primarily stemming from the limited availability of radiotracers suitable for industrial applications and compatible with different fluids found in industrial processes. The primary objective of this investigation was to establish a swift methodology for incorporating radioiodine into organic compounds to improve methods of using radioactive tracers to study mixing process, fluid flow, leakage and similar problems, particularly in respect to the processing of petroleum hydrocarbons in oil refineries and similar installations
