Design of an autonomous low-cost FPGA-based gamma spectrometer environmental radiation monitoring
Abstract
In this report, we present the development of a low-cost environmental radiation monitor using the FPGA technology. FPGAs have become the trend for digital signal processing. Contrary to micro-controller units, they can run many parallel instructions at once and, therefore, are the top choice for the implementation of nuclear pulse detection algorithms.
