Analysis on Thin Layer Activation’s effective dose and statistical reliability for a tribology equipment
Resumo
TLA is a nuclear technique used to activate a small part of a target, this is used to measure wear with great precision. However, it produces nuclear activity and thus an effective dose. This report presents the use of MCNP-X to simulate and evaluate how viable TLA experiments are for a tribology equipment from the nuclear safety and statistical precision perspective. The methodology consists of simulating the equipment using the MCNP-X code to obtain an effective dose near the equipment through the F5 function and the de/df cards for flux to effective dose (µSv.h-1) conversion and also Counts Per Second results using the F8 function.
